That was how I used to rigg my more expensive lures, the cable ties break off under load from a potentially lure destroying fish , so that it fights clean on the assist cord and no leverage is placed on the lure .
Now that I am familiar with the lures strenght I nolonger worry about lure breakage.
On some cheap and nasty lures that scream fish I use this style of rigging , if I need a tail and belly hook on it. Mostly just hang a big assist off the nose
