Navman Sounder Plugs Broken - Please Help?

Hi everyone.

Can anyone tell me where I can get my Navman sounder AND my Navman chartplotter fixed. It stopped working a couple of months ago. Please see photos below.

The first issue is that some of the copper lining in the plug holes is corroded and broken so it cant form a connection with the pins (photos 2 and 3). The entire plugs need replacing.

Second issue is that the plastic on the back of the screen which holds the plug in place is broken so I also need to get this replaced (photos 4 and 5). The plug pulls out when I am smashing through waves.

I thought Navman would probably charge me a fortune so I was wondering if there is anywhere else I can get these fixed?

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
Collie

They look like a common

They look like a common waterproof plugs you can get from an electronic store, so then it's just a little bit of soldering. Then get male side to fit and it’s good as new.

discontinued parts

I have a navman 5430 tracker and a 4350 sounder sitting in my shed in a box no power cables same thing happened. CH smith said they had cables for the tracker and then sent me something that didn't fit. Navman now Lowrance do not offer any support for the units anymore so you can't get them fixed and there are no parts.

Been meaning to put them up for sale. I'd just go buy a new unit like a dragonfly that's what I did.

 yup had the same problem

Thu, 2013-11-28 07:21

yup had the same problem with my old mans units, got some new plugs for them from altronics.

Part number is P9488 or this link is the one Likc posted.

Also have a wiring diagram here if anyone is interested.

Best thing to do is get some contact cleaner and clean the plugs up best you can, then also get some decent electrical grease and put it in all the connections and check them regularly to stop them corroding more.

Cheers Joel
