Help!!
Can any tackle guru's out there help me pick a rod to suit a Tiaga 12?
Need a rod for bottom bashing and trolling. Reel(on its way) will be spooled with 30lb. Mainly fishing off Onslow and Exmouth.
I was looking at a G Loomis PBR785, but as I am 600kms from the nearest tackle store im unsure whether or not this will suit what I will be doing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Have a look at a backbone
Have a look at a backbone 15kg trolling stick. I have 3 and rate them. If you have the money to spend you cant go past the T-curve range of rods but these start at around $300 where as you can get a backbone for under $100 if you shop around. Even a T-curve jig stick 200. I am using a 400 with 24kg braid and use it for jigging, trolling and bottom bouncing. Great little rod. I am sure there are plenty out there that will do the job it just comes down to cost and brand preference.
Happy shopping

Yeah i agree but there is a tcurve 15kg standup game rod with a top roller tip only and i was extremely impressed with it when used. Also live fibre have a beautiful range as well. Highly rate the backbone as well.

Tcurve
I thought the tiagra Tcurve 15Kg was fully rollered though?
Prolly spooling it with Braid. Not the best for trolling, but I have a 30WLRS with mono, so if we go for the big stuff I could use this.
the Tiagra 12 seems nice and light instead of the 30w, so I was looking for a nice light rod with plenty of strength, that I could fish with from sun up to sun down 3 to 4 days in a row.
Hey Jay, Ive seen you have posted a few pics of Glen Hall(Elvis), do you go fishing with him a lot? I used to play in the same softball team as him in Para.

If you're planning to bottom
If you're planning to bottom bounce with it then yet.....got with a rod with no rollers....ie Backbone, Taipan. Another worth looking at is the Braidbuster range and the Oxflex Sports range, both do 15kg strokers and are very well priced. The GLoomis PBR series are quite long for bottom bouncing unless you want to do something more specific...

Go with braid... a Tiagra 12
Go with braid... a Tiagra 12 won't fit much 15 kilo mono... and if you're gonna use it for bottom bounce and trolling I'd rather have braid rather than mono.

A live fibre 10-15kg would
A live fibre 10-15kg would fit the bill plugga, the tcurve's Tyrnos Medium Jig/Troll (10-15kg) would be another sweet option too, wouldn't cost as much as a loomis either.
The braid buster rods by ozflex are good but i wouldn't rate them against either of the above two
The good old Sabre's are another option, lookin are around $400ish but
If you we're doin more bottom bashin the alot of people are going the jig rod option but the tiagra would dwarf the rod me thinks
