But before you get flamed nobody is going to share their spots with you. You would probably benefit by mentioning what you would like to target.

Being south of river Woodman's Point is a popular spot to launch with plenty of whiting and squid to be had over the numerous weed beds. Look for likely lumps and burley up for snapper. Plenty of skippy to be had as well.

If you search on Cockburn Sound I'm sure you will get plenty of hits that will provide you with the information you need to get started.

It might also be worth mentioning what you will be doing...bottom bouncing, trolling, etc. Seems to still be the odd pelagic report on here so they must still be around in limited numbers. Could also try fishing the back of GI.

Hopefully someone with some actual experience can enlighten you lol.

Cheers,

Buschy

buy a top of the line

buy a top of the line fishfinder , not a $300 piece of useless kit, get it mounted/installed propperly, read/understand the instruction booklet propperly and you will be able to find your own fish when you launch your boat whereever you choose to go fishing!

 Getting on the water would

Getting on the water would be a good start :) Closest place to launch would be Woodmans point as mentioned but I also like to put in at Point Peron as it's closer to fish the west side of Garden Island.

Do you guys have much boating experience? If not, start in the sound until you feel confident enough to go any deeper and make sure you have all the right safety gear.

It's not hard to find some fish out there, just go exploring! If you ask some more specific questions you might get some better answers... "somewhere to go" is a bit vague.

and I'll see if I can get out with you or throw you a few ideas. As mentioned Woodmans point / peron point is a good starting point for Cockburn Sound and beyond.

Skippy, herring, tailor, squid mussels and maybe fingers crossed a pinkie are all available options without heading 22 miles out.....

I agree with all these

I agree with all these post.... I have just recently purchased a boat and getting GPS co-ordinates of someones fishing spots is like getting blood from a stone. If they do give them to you they are probably not very good ones! I bought my boat just over six months ago It came with a Lowrance GPS and black/white navman fish finder which was useless... I sold both of them on ebay and bought myself a Lowrance HDS 5 sounder/gps combo for around $800 which is proving to be invaluable....It takes time and heaps of patience and lots of begging to get some experienced people out there with you to show you how things are done and how to read your sounder properly but once you understand you dont need them and can keep searching on your own. I go out from woodmans point all the time and its not a bad spot for King george whiting goodluck mate and have fun fishing...
