networking hds models

hi there ive just scored a bargain hds7 gen 2 to network with me 7 touch and been reading a bit about it is it true that I only need the Ethernet cable to be able to share the info between the 2 units I was planning on just using one for plotter nd the other sounder I wana be able to mark a spot on the sounder then it transfers straight to the other unit I d have a nmea 2k already set up fro the 7 touch for me sonic hub music so can easily get it to the other unit if need. one thing I haven't been ale to find is ther any settings I need to change as I did see network settings but not sure wat to change them to any help be great thanks chris

Doing the same thing
have 2 hds gen 2 units . I called lowrance Australia and they said to use nmea 2k and its just plug and play . Haven't installed it yet but it sounds easy enough

Yellow Ethernet cable from
Yellow Ethernet cable from one unit to the other should be all that you need. Once plugged in the units will see that they are connected.
You will then be bale to mark a waypoint on your sounder unit which will come straight up on your GPS unit. Not sure of the complete compatability between the touch unit and the HDS gen 2...

thanks guys looks will be using the Ethernet way I think and then probs the nmea way aswel just to make sure now to set it up and lets go slay some fish :)
