What type of fish do you want to target??
Once you work this out it makes it so much easier. The standard chrome baitfish profiles work on salmon and tailor, are easy to cast and use and catch fish. Things like Halco twisties and Gillies Pillies. It helps to match the weight of the lure to the weight rating on your outfit. Common sizes are 40 to 80grams. Smaller 5" soft plastic minnow style tails are probably the go on a jig head for a lighter outfit in 1/2 to 1 oz size. Mulloway will scoff a plastic, but is a patience game and will take you a bit of work to achieve. When conditions are right, poppers and minnows work well also. Halco roosta poppers and richter poppers as well as shallow rinning minnows or stick baits. Try and match the size of your lure to the size of the bait in the area.
