New Saltiga

I know there a few tackle junkies out there who may be able to answer this question.
I tuned in late to a fishing show last evening and they were jigging for Sambos off Hillarys.
The host was using a red Saltiga spinning reel and he was saying it was a soon to be released version with all new drag.
Does anyone know anything about these reels?
I can't find anything on the Daiwa site I went to,
many thanks, Colin Hay

They just got the columns the wrong way around, so the new ones are 820g with 30kg drag (pretty much same as before)

I have had the 4500 and 6500 since October and will admit the reels are better than the older models, bought mine while in Sydney before the prices went up if they had had a 3500 in the extreme would have bought one as well got to keep the saltiga family together, you can also buy the saltiga extreme rods as well

I’m glad you bought that reel up steveB.
I too had serious thoughts of one And having a play around with it.
I then went across to spheros as I have heard that they can pull fish.
But I think the GT 5000 would be an excellent reel too for the $$

Any idea about how good the drag is..???? anyone

It will always depend on two things..money

The rich and shameless will walk in and out with 2 or 3  $1400 reels and think nothing of it.
The average wage earner will have to struggle going without for a few weeks just to be able to walk out with a $400 reel.
I’ll bet most that can spend $2000-$3000 in a spending spree are probably single or still living at home with mum and dad.
Or then there’s the credit card at what %

$20.000 car $200.000 car... gear in differant scenario's.

If your happy catching fish on average gear and succeed.. noice

If you lose the fish of a lifetime on average gear then bad luck! at least if you've got the best gear, then you know you've done the best you could and lost
