Am I missing something, or why are the new saltiga's about 200 bucks cheaper on the online oriental angler stores

2010 Saltigas are an absolute steal at the moment, or more likely the price they should be, I picked up a Z5000 for under $600 online 2 weeks ago

saltiga 4000 are only just over 1000 locally opposed to 874 o/s then you add your postage + insurance+ keeping in mind no warrenty and i think that you are better of buying in aus to be honest

just because you are buying online doesnt mean you have to buy over seas
I buy alot of gear from south australian and eastern states shops that sell online, so yes you do get the warranty just gotta send it back to them which you will have to opay that postage price yourself if you buy locally its says it in the warranty fine print.

Warranty
You will get warranty with any Daiwa reel purchased overseas,i have in the past and dont see any reason why it would have changed.
