New trailer options

Looking at options for a new trailer. Seems to be a few really cheap Ali kits and pre made options on the market at the moment. Has any one heard bad reports or good reports about them?? Looking at sum thing to suit a 24' glass boat rated to around 3.5t with electric breaks and drive on.

Theres the usual brand making sum nice trailers but I can't see where the $12k-$18k price tag is coming from when you compare them to the lesser known brands??

There's a few if ya look on

There's a few if ya look on gumtree mate. From what I can gather the frame it's selfs pretty good just the suspension, breaks ect that are a bit average. With the amount of kms I do a year I think I'm going to have to sink a little more in to save any problems down the track.

 Having worked in the trailer

Having worked in the trailer industry for years l got a good understanding of whats good and bad. I have seen them all come through our service department. Cheap isnt always best. Usually there chinese imports. But ssying that it seems alot of manufactors even the better ones are using cheap chinese parts.

The best steel galv trailers going atm are tezzas trailers. Locally made ,l beam construction so no internal rusting. His prices seem pretty good compared to the mass produced stuff.

Any 3.5t rated trailer to suit a 24ft boat in steel wiil be 12 to 18k every day of the week.

Start talking ally framed and add another 5+K on that price.

Now l saw the post about the ally framed trailer spitfire l think, looks ok even though main frames a 3 piece bolted together job. Personally  I wouldnt be putting a 24ft glass boat on one though.

If you do alot of miles and any ruff road stuff your not going to want a imported trailer.

JMHO.

Wahoo trailers

I’ve read some good reports on the Wahoo flat pack aluminium trailers, made locally.  I priced up a 2 tonne, fully braked unit, about $8k.
