Ningaloo or Warroora Station???

 G'day all,

Ive got my dad here for a couple of weeks and we were going to try take him somewhere new for a camp. I have got a 5m plate alloy boat that we would like to take down and launch off the beach to get outside the reef to see if we can get him onto some decent fish.

Just wondering if anyone had any comments or suggestions regarding the access for launching a 5m boat from the shore/beach and the best fishing prospects?

Much appreciated in advance.

Thanks.

Just got back from a week

Just got back from a week camping at South Lefroy bay at Ningaloo. Magic place to camp! Launched our 5.2m alloy boat there with no problems, and not too far to get out to the fish. Only issue is the wind, which will vary depending on what time of the year you go. I was also considering Warrora, but they don't take bookings so you can't be guaranteed a particular spot. Happy to answer any particular questions.

 Gday mate, Ningaloo can

 Gday mate,

Ningaloo can handle the sth winds better and the launching is easier unless you can get a spot at Sandy but like mentioned above if you roll up there and she's full then its a fuck around.

Ningaloo is a good 2 hours further i reckon by the time you get into the Hsd and then up to the camps so maybe you could be flexible depending on the weather/availability.

If the weather looks ok and you can snag a camp at Sandy then probably no point wrestling the track into Ningaloo.

Awesome feedback

Thanks for that. Im not sure if the weather godsare being too kind to us... 20-30knots for the days we are there... We are still going to head down and maybe try to explore both spots. We will give South Lefroy a try thanks fuzzy. Without the boat it should make the trip in a bit easier to Ningaloo. is the fishing from the shore still worth a shot or is spearing allowing in any of those areas?

 Not sure about the fishing

Not sure about the fishing from the shore, didn't give it a try. A couple of regulars up there seem to think you can get dart and GTs off the beach. Just take the boat and you will be sweet. Even with a bit of wind, you can anchor up inside the reef and get a few fish.

Which direction ion is the wind? If it is anywhere from the south, the spots on the north side of the point are the best. i will be trying to book any of the bay's from 45 - 50 next time I am there. We stayed in 28 & 29 this time, which was also good, but 45-50 are a bit more protected. All these bays are basically on the beach (a small dune back from beach).
