Google D40 Problems

Tue, 2012-04-03 08:45

I think that they have a known problem with their clutches in that model, I have a d22 and when I bookek into the mechanic he was relieved that I did not have  a d40 and he worked at nissan for a couple of years. I would read up and if it has blown at very low mileage complain and see what happens.

getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

HI MATE

Just sent the mechanic the details so that he can give you a quote. He is a Land Rover trained mechanic and worked in Oz for Nissan for a couple of years, knows what he is doing and is honest.

4terrain clutch kit

Tue, 2012-04-03 21:29

G'day axl

The supervisor beat me to it, but here's what I found out awhile ago regarding replacement heavy duty clutch kits for a D40 Navara.....I checked it out before my son bought his in 2010. At the time, the cost of the HD clutch kit was $1120 + fitting. Now I've got a Nav, too, so I'd be going this way if/when either of ours needed replacing in the future.

The guys were very helpful when I was enquiring about their kits.

Hope this helps.

regards
rusty...

ive just had this installed

Fri, 2012-10-26 00:42

ive just had this installed on mine at 126,000kms and be done with the Dual Mass Flywheel. $1800 including fitting of the 4Terrain Clutch Conversion. Condition report from mechanic  was it was 90% gone so lucky sorted before completely burning it out.

This isnt just a D40 issue. It appears to be a problem with most CRD 4wd's with manual gearboxes to make them feel more car like. A mate had his hilux done in under 50000km's.
