Lots of people seem to like them, but personally i've never been much of a fan. They just dont load as smoothly through the blank as i'd prefer. Bit of a pet hate of mine for rods though. Your milage may vary. Best bet is to head into a tackle store and see if they suit you. Seem to have a lot of fans, so if you like the feel, then you should be pretty happy with it. I think nitro have a pretty good warranty too?

I have the magnum butt 4-6kg. I dont own a rediculous amount of rods but it is the definitely the best rod I have owned. Awesome for pinging lures for tailor salmon and also doubles up as my plastics rod for snapper out on the ski

Ive got 6- had a few more but I cleaned out my bream rods a little.  Got a couple of new models I want to add in though

They are brilliant rods, usually under rated in their line capacity, have awesome pulling power and yes have a great rod insurance policy that comes with them. www.innovatorrods.com.au will have more details.

If your after specific feedback on a particular model, I may have used or currently own it and can provide more detailed info.

I rate them highly for the price they are asking. A very smooth, no questions asked warranty as well. I have had a few over the the last few years and have found them to be an excellent blank.

 I've got 2 bait caster

Tue, 2012-06-19 17:05

I've got 2 bait caster models which I use for Murray cod and yellow belly down here in north east Victoria and are fantastic rods good for barra aswell I hear. Also got 5 spin models couple lighter for trout and bream fishing, also distance spin can throw a 10g slice a mile. The viper and Godzilla I am yet to give a really good work out. From what I've experienced so far they are the best rods I've ever owned and you can't go past that warranty.

Thats my two cents.

How do they compare to the Pfluegar Patriarch rods? They seem really nice for the money.

I wouldnt compare them... especially when the pfluger breaks and your up for a new rod.

Brett, for if sambos are involved, I would go the viper.  That packs some serious balls.  The magnum butt is a good tailor, salmon and tuna rod but from rocks Im guessing you will want to stop sambos and snapper pretty quick before they wrap you around a rock.  I fish the magnum butt from the boat and its awesome on the pelagics that wont brick you but around reef the viper wins out.  My viper has a 5000 stella SW on it with 40lb accudepth.  Yep the rod is rated to 8kg but it seems to fish 40lb fine.  Its my go to spangly outfit which will be getting stretched this time next week in exmouth.  It stops those stonker spanglies from wrapping me round the reef.  Also fish the magnum butt and it works as well, but its more suited to that fishing when the country is a bit more open and there isnt as much reef.

I have a nitro Godzilla and the Magnum butt.  Great rods.  I disagree that they do not load up well.  I have put on heaps of hurt with my Godzilla, it loads up beautifully and it has a really sensitive tip and a bunch of balls further down.  Great rod.

im using the nitro butt with the 3012h more than enough power for pulling tailor from reefy areas.

the magnum butt blank is nice tip is great, and guides are ok. butt for a 300 dollar rod i think the components could be better.

the reel seat is shit not even fuji. and i honestly thought it would cast better/further than it does when using metals.

all in all not a bad rod if not a little overpriced. i bought one as there are not many options for a 4-6kg 7'6 rod.

3012h is a lovely reel to use, my only concern is the shallow spool. still holds 150 meters of 15 pound though.

Hi.I got a Godzilla with

Sun, 2012-07-22 09:13

Hi.

I got a Godzilla with Capricorn 4500j. 30lb braid.

Bought it for a mix of jigging 30lb. and some popping for GT's up here.

When it's loaded it'll pull a brick wall down. and the $60? xs for a broken section, can't be beat...

A bit heavy in butt section. but it handles 50 to 80lb Tuna and big spannos.

Just put a decent braid tip, and first stripper on it first.

Knocked over a 34kilo Cobe last yr too.  I use a souped up US Penn 850 for them though.

The line capacity a bit light on for the first runs with the Capricorn

Doubled dogs and boosted drag. It's a tractor...Not as good as those fancy egg beaters. but still a winch.

No way I'd waste decent money on an egg beater. I use it on proper reels.

Godzilla actually works the spanno's etc, better than my Live Fibres. They load up too far out and give advantage to bigger fish.

The Godzilla loads a bit further down. Closer to the bone, so to speak. and lighter.

Are the smaller models 5 to 10 kg. Tip loaders, or more parabolic? I was thinking of one to suit a little Avet SX with 15lb nylon

for greys. spotties. small tuna etc.
