What came in the starter kit

What came in the starter kit and what info are you wanting to transfer? Was the kit for your motor or your plotter unit?

the hds can talk to the honda so you can see

• Engine RPM
• Alternator Voltage
• Engine Hours
• Fuel Flow
• Engine Trim
• Fuel Used
• Trip Fuel Used
• Seasonal Fuel Used
• Standard Diagnostics
o Overheat
o Low Oil Pressure
o Over Rev
o Low Battery Voltage

i just want to use the fuel consumtion rpm and fuel level in tank

Fuel consumption and rpm

Fuel consumption and rpm levels would be pretty interesting. Guessing it figures out fuel left in tank by using the fuel rate rather than a separate sensor?

So what was in the kit and which kit was it (motor/plotter or both).

As far as I understand, most connectors need to be custom wired. So you get a plug with bare wires from the plotter unit, and a plug with bare wires from the engine and splice them together. The NMEA standard is bascially a defined way of presenting all the data, so you should just have to wire up the correct wires to the correct wires and it should work.

Lowrance N2K-EXP-RD-2

Lowrance N2K-EXP-RD-2 Network Starter Kit this does everything but give you the honda cable

i think you need a sensor to connect to fuel sender unit

it should be a easy plug and play but as normal they make it way harder than it should be

Its not plug and play as

Its not plug and play as they'd have to make a million different types of cables. Once you get the honda cable, it should just be a matter of connecting the right wires and covering and you're done. Is the fuel sender unit not in the engine?

Says it has fuel rate and you want a 'ZZ3A' according to this. I dont know if it changed for 2010 motors, so cant confirm it. Where to get one, I dont know. $300 sounds stupid as its just a simple cable.

Fuel flow

Hlokk the engine is efi so the fuel flow readings will come from the ecu.

Isnt that in the engine?

Isnt that in the engine? (By the engine, I mean the whole casing, not literally in the engine). Or is there a complete separate box for housing the ECU? I woulda thought the NMEA controls would go via the engines ouput plug in either case? I'd presume all the NMEA outputs go through the ECU anyways (otherwise where is NMEA getting its data)

id say that each component will have a sensor that will relay back to the ecu then the mystry plug sends the info to the hds

the whole lowrance nmea 2000 setup is plug and play the only bare wires are the ones to power up the starter kit you just keep adding to the back bone for all the things you want to connect
