Had some time off today . Winds howling but the tide was right so I only knew of 1 place to go fishing. Well I nailed it . Got myself a pb salmon of around 600 and bagged on whiting.

That one is a big ?. My son looked it up and he thinks it's what they call according to Google a blue threadfin . Pic looks identical. I thought t he threadfin had longer fin things under the chin .

Blue nose 100%, threadys
Blue nose 100%, threadys aren’t as “bullet” shape as a blue, threadys also have a fair bit of yellow coloration and as you said the fillements on a thready are substantially longer that that of a blue

It is one fish
But with many common names. Blue salmon, bluenose salmon, blue threadfin salmon, Tasslefish etc etc.
I think in Queensland it is also called a Kingfish in some places. I heard that when I was on a charter in cairns and someone caught one and the skipper calledit a rocky kingfish. I said we called it a bluenose salmon or blue threadfin, and he said önly those dumb people from the West!!!
