No sonar charts on navionics platinum plus

 Hi all,

Just purchased a new lowrance HDS 7m and I can't seem to get the sonar charts to work. I have done the latest downloads from navionics which shows the sonar charts but still no joy.

I have navionics plus on my iPhone and it's super easy to use and has sonar charts for Australia and newzealand. I don't imagine they would of made it hard to use on my plotter.

has anyone else had these problems or am I doing something wrong??

cheers

This may sound like a silly suggestion, but have you tried zooming in on the display?

In your settings somewhere it gives you the option to use lowrance chart which is good for nothing or the navionics chart.  It should be at the top of the menu in either your general settings or chart settings.  It usually reverts back to low range after a software update

Yep I'd agree with Rig, I know a few guys who have missed this and have been using the default Lowrance maps inadvertantly.

Have you perhaps checked that the chart detail setting is on "Full"?

Chart page- menu-chart options-chart detail-FULL

Fish n chip option.

In your lowrance you turn on fish n chip to use the sonar charts. You lose all of your other chart info when you do this but you get the contour lines of sonar charts. I usually have it turned off going through shipping channels and the likes so you can see all your nav info but when you get out and start looking around for fishing spots then turn on fish n chips and all the sonar charts work.

I think it is a pretty shit set up on the lowrance for this option it should all just happen on the normal chart with all your nav info there also.

Hope this helps.
