*** NOR v SOR Comp 23rd June Postponed due to bad weather***
Submitted by Andy Mac on Mon, 2007-06-18 23:08
We have buckleys chance of getting out this weekend due to strong onshore winds of 30knots not looking like letting up all day. The comp will therefore be postponed to the foillowing Saturday 30th June. Keep an eye out for updates on the site.

Another post stating, "NOR v SOR comp 30th June Postponed due to more bad weather". I knew it, Had a weekend planned for ages now it looks like I can't make the 7th July if it gets cancelled on the 30th and goes ahead for that weekend! "Sorry hun but I had a previous, previuos engagement". Do ya reckon that'll cut the mustard? MAXY

Sat
ATM the weather for Sat almost looks fishable on Seabreeze.
15 knots or below for the time the comp would be on. Only thing is the swell is around 3m.

Westerly wind and 3m swell????
Even at 15knots it would be very messy for anyone in a boat below 6m in my opinion. Unless it improves more I would say we will be waiting another week at this rate. If it wasn't a comp day I wouldn't even consider it, looking at that forcast.

mmhhh!
At this rate it's gonna be very hard to get 0-10 knot winds and a 1.5m swell on a "set" Saturday, yeh nice conditions but wrong time of the year!

Agree Ryan but not much we can do I'm afraid.
If it was around a 2m swell I might consider it but at 3 and building I can't risk putting the comp on and having some poor fella come unstuck by pushing their luck for the sake of a comp.
Frustrating for all I am sure. Wish we had done it two weeks ago when by all accounts it would have been fishable irrespective of the forecast. Ah well never mind, just have to be patient.

nuh!
Didn't ask for you to give it a green light Andy, thought 2 weeks ago should of been a goer but ya get that. My comment was honing in on the odds, they're against us getting what is deemed "fine" ATM,that's all!
I'm patient because I'm still fishing regardless :)

ON THE OFF CHANCE
On the off chance that the comp is on the cards this week end, I am out of action for the NOR leg of the comp due to other commitments.
Sorry guys

Yeh!
Quote{Ryan you talk about the weekend two weeks ago as fishable but up till the Sat morning it was nothing but shit!I fished and did well that afternoon but it would have been uncomfortable for the majority of the boys, It was for me!The best of the weather was all in the arvo!
It won't be long and the weather gods will smile on us!}Quote The build up was crap to that weekend but lets not forget what time of year it is, storm fronts & hi swells with a day that's okay inbetween periodically.
I'm still getting out every week for my fishing fix so all's good and yeh I wrote this weekend off at the beggining of the week!
