North mole Salmon run
Submitted by Jason P on Sat, 2015-04-11 13:23
As my boat is out of action and the weather was pretty ordinary, thought I'd give the North mole a try for Salmon. From about 10am to 11.30am it was going off with Salmon biting almost anything. The Salmon were that hungry at times, they would come right in to the edge of the mole and could be clearly seen. Bloody great sesh, but was pretty packed.
Hooked 6 and Landed 3. :)

Salmon snob
Hey maybe I am , but after going for a look whilst having lunch yesterday , and seeing the crowds /masses / heaving throng,
You get the idea, I am so looking forward to our south coast/ deserted beach type trip , but hey each to there own ,
a Salmons a salmon , wherever you get it.
I did see something I thought a tad odd, one fella had a dead salmon , bleeding and all just laying in his carpeted rear of his 4wby,
we were there for 30 minutes , and it was still there!
Bags not eating that one! haha.

Yep was there today there
Yep was there today there were the usual rude people that try and cast over the top of you but over all most of the blokes were pretty helpful, helping people land their fish I had one guy end up in the drink when he used his gaff that was to short because mine which is a extension one was being used by one of the masses the bloke emerged from the water big smile on his face laughing with fish in hand passed it up to me then got out of the water.I did think some of the catch care left a bit to the imagination some just left on the pavement or hung up by a rope on the bulbar (not a good look) I enjoyed my day despite losing a few lures but hey that's fishing.

There was some people that
There was some people that were less than desireable with either being that close or slaughtering their catch but most were quite friendly . I think I must have been the only one who released their catch. I was offered a gaff, but declined so to have a better release . Nothing wrong with keeping a few though. May give it a go again tomorrow.
