17kg roughly i think as my lip weighing scale was 30lb and it was went over the limit on it.
bbq stingray tomorrow yum :D
and a great way to pop the cherry on my 12ft xzoga though i think it time to get it matched to a better reel....

I've only eaten the wings
my mother used to bake the wings in the oven - long time ago but i remember they were quite edible.

fish and chip shops used to sell ray as 'skate'. It was great, tasted like everything else out of the fryers. ;-)

we catch skate here in ol blighty, they taste good, and no real bones. Although to be honest i cant be arssed to skin them anymore, but if you can they taste good.

wings are the only parts
wings are the only parts that we eat as long we dont hit the guts awhile we cut them off. if you do hit the guts it basiclly stuff's up the meat...
and usally small ones are the best to eat. any bigger than this one would of let it back into the ocean for sure.
the other meat from the middle i use for bait for sharks and snapper
