If you can get a copy of last weekends west there was a write up on the 565. I'm looking into one myself, really suits my sort of fishing. Interesting info here as well:

Thanks guys, still not sure what thay are like offshore are they better than a 17ft Pacemaker punching into or being chased by a sea whipped up by a decent sea breeze.

Whaler

A bloke down the road has one with a 90 etec. Went out with him, me in my 540 trailcraft (17 ft) also with 90 etec.

Quite surprising the results, and not as I woudl have thought....

- On the way out into the waves : now the trailcraft is not known for its soft ride....but 45 degrees into a nice chop with 15 knot wind, the traily easily got away from the 565 Whaler...not what I was expecting. The Whaler was leaping madly in the air making it hard to keep pace and a bit dangerous. The traily....well, it just bashed and crashed as they do, no good for the spine, but very safe.

- On the way home with a following +20 knot wind - the 565 Whaler toasted me big time and was doing toward 30 knots! It was like a boogie board, and was excellent with the waves. The traily gets a bit broachy if you go too fast, so I could not keep up.

Other things : fishability on the 565 is excellent. Safety is excellent as far as sinking goes, but has VERY low freeboard and you feel like you are literally on a boogie board. They seem quite stable with the tri hull.

All in all.....nice boat, ugly as sin, great with the weather, much more average into it than most would expect. I will stay with the trailcraft, but can certainly understand why say a diver would like this boat. You could safely come home with a big sea breeze in this boat...not so in the traily.

Hope this helps.

John

Most surprising given I am used to my seaquest 6.8 - nice soft ride, correctly trimmed it seems to handle any sea we have encountered - great fishing platform

Would have no hesitation whatever in recommending and we have headed well well offshore without the slightest concern
