Our first collie river bream

After many attempts to get onto a patch of bream in the collie river we finally cracked it with this 23cm bream. But he wasnt the only bream around... I lost the first bream hook line and sinker (litterally) which by the feel would have gone around 40cms! I could tell it was a whopper bream when i hooked it after I felt it "ran" with my bait. The drag, which was set fairly tight was screaming and i tried to stop the fish from running into the snags... (which was hard because my bait had been sitting right besisde a submerged tree when the fish grabbed it) and the line ended up snapping after about 10 seconds!!!! i was rather dissapointed that i didnt even get to see the fish before it broke off. Ended up getting one more snap off in the same spot about half an hour later from a fish that was probably 30cms. Overall it was a good afternoon on the water resulting in our first bream from the collie river and a pecefull couple of hours in the boat.

Cant wait to do it again next time, prefferably without losing all of the big fish. Maybe i need stronger line next time...

Yea it was good. I wouldnt have minded the break-offs so much if i at least saw the fish but they were just out of sight so it just leaves you wondering how big were they...
