the outcome of my dog diesel vs copper
Submitted by petermac on Mon, 2014-08-11 22:14
i have had heaps of pms asking what the outcome was after my dog deisel latched onto a cop , well what happened was a council ranger turned up with a notice to take possesion of my dog . I asked what was going to happen and he said they would be shooting him .I hit the roof and said like f### he would be , he said he had to be put down so he followed me to Waikiki vets and I had him put down by needel and i cryed as he passed away . if that copper had just let me get out of the car all would have been good .8 years ago i carried a cop that had been knocked out in the Mermaid hotel Dampier during a brawl to safety not sure i would do it again now

The officer involved may have a different view on the event(rightly or wrongly) but that's still F*%$#d.
My heartfelt condolences.

Sorry to hear , I didn't
Sorry to hear , I didn't expect that .. I’d be interested to know what injuries were sustained that resulted in this extreme action .. Unless in a rural area with no vets around , I’m pretty sure rangers are obliged to euthanise by means of injection metro .

Time lapse...
...how long ago was the incident? 4, maybe 6 weeks ago? If they were really doing this in the interest of public safety, they wouldn't have waited so long. And where was your chance to argue your point against what the cop had to say?
Unless we haven't heard the whole story, it sounds like Big Brother trying to make an example of you and your dog. So much for the concept of a free, democratic society.

Sorry about your dog Peter,
Sorry about your dog Peter, but this whole bagging the cops thing the rest of you wtf! how can you sit there and bag the cops and rangers with only hearing PM's side of the story?!? Very shallow views and sounds like an old fashioned witch hunt. I bet there's more to this than Peter is telling.

no more
no more to the story thats how it happened if diesel had given him a savaging i could understand it but he just gave him a bite all be it was a bite from an Aussie Bulldog is a good bite its no more than what the police dogs do when they bite some one , as i have said if the copper had let me out of the car it would never have happened , but for some resone they wont let you out of the car

The plot thickens...the dog
The plot thickens...the dog that has been allegedly put down was a "40kg Aussie Bulldog" (my condolences if this is true Pete) as the first post says but the above post says this could not be true!! Quote - "have been with out a four legged old mate for a about 12 years". It's hard to know what to believe but I do know that Peter loves a good following!!
Burley it and they will come.

Hate to see anything bad
Hate to see anything bad happen to a dog, our little staffy "fell of the perch" only a couple of months back at 3 yrs, plus Ive put down two old dogs (16 and 14) in the last 5 years.
So I feel for ya Pete.
But I must confess Ive scratched an even bigger bald patch on my head while trying to decipher this.
8th June "committed to a Jack Russell"
4 weeks later you have a "40kg Aus bulldog" thats bitten a copper.
Honestly if you have had that dog (obviously fully grown and an unknown quantity) plus kids around the house-Id say there could have been far far worse possible outcomes.
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Could you let the dog stay at a mates for a week or two and tell the cops he ran away? Then bring him back home? I would not let them take my dog, I would find a new place to live with my best mate!

mate of mine that actually has kennels found out after i had diesel was put down and suggested exactly thats what i should have done , might have been hard hiding his ID though as his left inner ear was tatooed and he was micro chipped
