Over head reel
Submitted by metroLBfisher on Tue, 2012-01-24 15:45
Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the best overhead reel i could get for under 300 bucks that holds over 600 m of 50 lb braid.
Looking to get one to target sharks
Cheers Jamie

mine fits about 350m of 24kg
mine fits about 350m of 24kg mono so 60lb braid would think well over 600m. 2speed would probly be better for crankin in larger model sharks but ive found the single speed is fine for what i use it for. also have a tyrnos 10 thats loaded with 450m of 30lb powerpro and is enough room to fit a long leader on top. nice reels for the price.

Daiwa Saltist 50 fits 630
Daiwa Saltist 50 fits 630 metres of 50lb, and they are a really nice piece of kit, very solid and I would think have no problems handling sharks

I upgraded to this after
I upgraded to this after getting spooled 3 times in 2 days down south chasing sharks, 700m of 50lb gone and 2 lots of 500m of 80lb, may seem stupid but with a 3kg bait you want every bit of line you can hold.
always looking for a new challenge!!
