Oxidation - Cut and Polish help
Submitted by Borbs on Fri, 2011-01-28 16:36
Need help re polishing fibregalss boat.
Boat sat for a few years up north in the sun and has heavy oxidation (boat is dark blue). Have tried to cut and polish with several brands, it seems the polish just gets absorbed into the surface and results in extensive swirls - tried by hand and machine. I don'tpolish in the heat or direct sunlight.
Trying get boat up to specs to get back on the water.
Any tips appreciated.

2 Pack
Sounds like its time to give it a new coat of gelcoat or 2 pack paint.

try a product called marine
try a product called marine finess but be warned it contains silica so you need to wear dustmask/respirator we have just done a quick polish on a baron and it took of all the sun fade. once my camera has charged i can post some before after photos

mmm got your work cut out on
mmm got your work cut out on that one mate hard cut polish and wax use a buff machine hand job would be a waste of time. A dark coloured hull like that will need wax every 8 weeks to keep a good shine the gel looks a bit far gone from the pic bu you may be lucky keep us posted.
