but the new one is shit , to high off the water and they have boat morings in front of it now so any big fish just take you straight into the morings,Try lifting a squid 10 meters up onto the jetty what a joke

i do live there and there was a few mulloway caught at the yacht club last year but not as many as the year before and palmies has definitely turned to shit since the new jetty because 30m in front there is a bunch of moorings  so normally when you do hook up you get busted but there has been a few decent fish caught there recently, but at theese jetties you encounter atleast 150 stingrays before something decent if your lucky.

palmies is good for baitfish as they are everywhere/yacht club is now shit for baitfish as there isnt any since last salmon season well atleast nothing in a considerable amount.

I get my licence in two

I get my licence in two weeks buddy, Get prepared for some serious mulloway sessions.

Has anyone got into the slimey macks at palmies this year or were they just a complete no show?

And yeah I remember getting so many rays at the old jetty it was so annoying and you dreaded throwing your bait out.

saw 3 mulloway all over 12kgs

Sat, 2011-01-29 18:58

saw 3 mulloway all over 12kgs get caught in one night on the old jetty. 2 of them were caught by one guy, lucky bastard. Used to see alot of fish caught from that jetty; tailor, salmon, heaps of bonito, pinkies, mulloway and all your bread and butter species, pretty quiet there now though..

Try Warnbro sound

Sat, 2011-01-29 18:26

I stroll down to the Donald drive ramp regularly to catch tailor to use for mackerel bait later in the year. Want them 30 - 32 cm but keep catching 40 - 50 cm. hate chucking them back because they are too big! Always reliable spot.
