Palm Beach Jetty.

Hey guys, went down to palm beach jetty trying for some squid tonight about 7:45.  Got down had a look first and seen a good 6-8 squid around the weed patches up close to the jetty but I tried every jig I had from about 2.5 down to a 1.0 or so and they would come up have a go at the jig then swim off.  Very very flightly even with a bit of prawn on the barbs.  Other than that Saw people landed what looked like herring and seen a decent couple of crabs just swimming around looks like it should be an alright season down at the jetty for crabs this year.

The guys catching them on

The guys catching them on  herring would have been using a squid spike, it's just a spike that you poke through the fishes head (squid always take the head first) so it pokes out around the tail and you tie that to your line usually under a float. But using squid jigs is alot more fun, try getting yourself a more pricy one with a better action, not long till crabbing opens in cockburn again.
