PB Barra....
Hey guys and girls,
Well what a weekend out at Camballin it was.... Headed out to a mates place there friday arvo... Downed a few beverages... Watched the sunset go down ova the Looma ranges there... Watched Eagles finally have a win.... Then hit up Camballin Barrage in the morning for a good session off the concrete wall. Barra smashing almost everything we threw at them... No huge ones thou.. All under 50cm... Biggest was on a soft plastic which was my first on a softy.... Sweet... Between the two of us we got 14.. All released...
Then headed off for some lunch back home and a few well deserved beers.... After that we thought we were on such a good roll and the prospect of there being some bigger ones around was too much so we loaded the boat and off again to a spot abit closer to home.... Launched the boat and we were on the troll....
Within 5 mins... hooked up another littly to 50cm.... A few more hits and a couple more smaller ones to 60cm we found a nice snag we thought we'd flick at....
1st flick and BOOF...... Right at the boat a huge barra nearly jumped in the boat on its first jump... Scotty was on.... Backing the boat out from the snag and trying desperatly to pull her away from the sticks... After a good 5 mins she was in the boat for Scotty's PB 91cm..... Happy as.....
After we calmed down we were back on troll..... about an hr later had another small one landed... Good fun... With the day fastly coming to an end and my anxiety killing me waiting for a hit... BANG...... 3 secs later.... Dropped..... Bugger, that was a good fish...... absolutly devastated thinking that was my chance.... Turned the boat around and decided to make it our last troll back to the car before heading off...
Lures in... Coming past some over hanging trees and a small snag... BANG....... On like donkey kong I screamed... With a huge Barra breaking the surface... Lure completly engulfed..... Game on.... Scotty backed the boat out into the middle and me trying desperatly to pull it away from the snags.... Circled the boat. jump, jump, under the boat, jump, she was trying her best to bust me off..... With the leader fraying before my eyes I thought it'd be all over soon if I didnt get it in the net.... Afew more circles of the boat and she was in..... WOOOOOO.... Pumped and Relieved and after a few bigs screams and cheers it was a quick measure and she went 93cm,My New PB, Photo time and she was released.....
Great end to a great day.... Totalling 20 Barra between us for the day.. All successfully released to fight another day.... Does it get much better??
Cheers
Marky.

Top photos! Can you submit that last photo to the site by itself, I think its well worthy of a berth in the photo of the month competition. (If you have a larger version that would be great)
