hi,
just got myself a kayak for fishing, not wanting to spend running cost on a boat, will have to make do with kayak...not sure if it's good idea.
Am looking for buddies for kayak fishing around Perth water, have been having no luck in asking most of the retails for advice...and have not much info on the web...end up having my first luanch at woodman poitn boat ram!@#$ ( - not a good idea for beginner)...
hope to catch some fishes on the open water.

I use to kayak fish ( now fish from the Jetski).
Come a little bit further South from Woodies- launch from Safety Bay or Shoalwater.Heaps of room, plenty of parking.
Paddle around the weed banks for squid, then the sandbar for whiting.
When you feel a bit more comfortable with the kayak, paddle around the Islands, trolling for tailor or herring.
Give me a wave if you see me around there,as it's still one of my favorite places for a feed of "bread and butter fish"
My Dad taught me how to Fish-Thanks Dad.(RIP)

Nice Moke.
I guess the beauty of parking that in Shoalwater is that there's nothing to break into!

Shoalwater & penguin Island
Ive recently bought a kayak so I can head out for a fish on weekdays when Im on RnR by myself.
Have paddled around Penguin Island a few times and done alright on herring and stuff. Really easy to launch down there as theres a couple of spots you can park near the water to save having to carry your kayak. Check google maps, between Bent st boat ramp and the penguin island jetty theres a good launch spot.
