Perth night fishing

 Hi all,

taking the boat out tomorrow night to chase snapper and was looking for some last minute tips...

Launching from Hillary's we were thinking of anchoring up around Hale Road Reef. Has anyone had much success with snapper lately in the early evening?

Cheers,
Mike

Yeah a few people have been doing well that way for evening pinkies. Do yourself a favour first tho, hit the ramp a bit earlier and go catch some fresh sand whiting for bait in front of scarbs, the pinkies there love them if they are nice and fresh

Good night on the water!

Mate it was a perfect night, almost glassed off by 9pm. Fishing was best during the hour either side of sunset, then started to quiten down about.

We managed a good spread of different fish, with each drop bringing up something different.

Ended up landing  a couple of decent pinkies, a 60cm Dhufish, gummy shark, port jackson shark, samson fish, skippy and even a large cuttlefish which was a bit of a surprise! Everything was released.

Also had a few big bust offs which were picking for larger sharks or rays...
