Hey Brenz do you just want to make them smaller?
If so just use this as it makes it so easy.

New Computer? Vista?
The new laptop, if installed with Vista, should have all the software you need to edit photos. Apart from that, the recommendations for Picasa are good.
If you get more into it brenz, as you probably will with a new camera, I recommend buying Paintshop Pro http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/au/en/Product/1184951547051#versionTabview=tab0&tabview=tab0
It has gone up a little in price but for years now I have used it as a replacement for Photoshop (and we all know the cost of that).
Maybe I am moving too fast for you LOL but hey... I have had some great times with photos etc using Paintshop Pro. Now my missus is looking at taking classes to move to the next level. Digital cameras are such a buzzzz....
Enjoy the new toys.
Cheers, Vince
