Long before then

Sun, 2012-03-25 17:18

Worked on the original Sabea with Don Guest in the mid seventies and then on Leading Star before it went down on the back of the islands

A mate owns Seakist and she's still a good sea boat. Took a trip out on Intrepid to see how they caught crabs and son worked on Miss Pheonix recently till they shut the fishery down.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Miss it

Wow, that takes me back!!!

I used to work on the Menari with Scotti Newman,    and Jeff Palmer even further back..  Fantastic times....  However I dont miss the 3 -4 days and nights fishing without ANY sleep, only to come back in, absolutely buggered.... and then had to unload and wash the boat....  Was like the walking dead at that point!!!  lol

Funniest thing though is when you finally got home and either went to the toilet or a shower.... Id smash my head against the wall as my body was still rocking to the waves!!!   lol.. (whilst trying to stand or sit still)

But still.... you cant beat that feeling you get when heading out through the channel on the next trip.... The anticipation is an awesome feeling!!!
