I would have to say it was a ray but he hooked onto something bigger and faster later in the night.

I think that one was a ray (didnt do anything except run like a freight train) after about 5-10 min i ended up busting it off.
Running 20ld mono, on a Penn 8500ss which had id say 300-530m line, and it almost spooled me. Then finally got some back
But then.... bloody Marc's dodgy 40lb leader snapped...not the 20lb mono!!!
Later in the night i hooked into another big fish, this one had head shakes and charged round all over the joint. My guess a shark of some sort. Im pretty sure it was not a ray.
After about 20 min i busted off (I think when the shark turned and ran out again, the line frayed on its skin and broke. :(
Still got 3 tailor for the night tho!

I use picture it 7 photo editing software but the pics didnt need much tweekin as it was a great sunset
