Anyone had any luck on the billfish around Karratha this year?
Action a-plenty around Exmouth and Broome, but was very quite out behind the ships over Easter.

Usually have to look further
Usually have to look further afield than the ships this time of year and yep by all reports there are a few about.

numbers for the comps were'nt all that great, gotta remember there were over 60 or 70 boats fishing and that was 5 weeks ago. I've been doing some miles for the odd bill but doing it a lot harder than previous years.

Yeah I put in my fair share
Yeah I put in my fair share of hours up there last week and didn't see a single billie anywhere.
Then put the divers on and 4 hours didn't yield a single makkie either!
Really was not firing. Guess all these marlin/makkies turning up further south had to have come from somewhere.
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

i got as far as in sight of Stag on Monday and not a sausage for 4 hours work, but on the way back in we spotted a free jumping billie west of the ships in 40m and set the gear again quickly but no love, we ranged in depth from 30m to 45m
