Drop a note on the weather

Mon, 2012-07-16 19:28

Drop a note on the weather notice boards at Bayview and at the Gen Store / servo with a name and shame.  Or on the bowsers after you fill up...

Not  defending pingers by any

Mon, 2012-07-16 19:42

Not  defending pingers by any means but we need to realise that these pieces of shit exist and you need to be responsible for protecting your hard earned spots.

Any sight of a boat headen my way that gets within a few km's im on the move, even if its a few hundred meters or so. Go back when they are long gone

As much as we hate pingers we dont own spots on the ocean.

Your a lucky man Hayden jumping on another mans boat to delete his waypoints and living to tell the story

yeah, was thinking the same thing myself. To do that youd likely have to turn batterys on, boot it up, scroll thru then delete.

Where was he?

Hate it and will try and lead

Mon, 2012-07-16 19:51

Hate it and will try and lead them off a site but not always that easy. I have had pingers circle my marker buoy while swimming back to the boat while diving.. seriously annoying.

Wot if

Mon, 2012-07-16 19:53

What if he has a radar, pings you before you move & moves in when your gone. Wouldn't you be pissed if your sitting 1km away & watching him pull up fish hand over fist, i know i

would be. Honestly how many of us have seen a boat move from a position & just wandered over to see what was so interesting, if the spot had fish you cant tell me you wouldnt drop a line in.

Dont get me wrong i hate pingers, it has happend to us a few times. I just cant see the sense in moving over for someone if your catching fish, move a little up the tide direction & drop the pick if you can. If you cant then use the motor to hold you there & prevent them from drifting through.

Remember your 'secret' spot today was someones yesterday & will be someone elses tomorrow.  haha

cheers & be safe

Rob

gee, thats annoying aye. especially if its taken years of work. i think the owners of that boat may live there coz i seen it parked out the front of a house when i was there about 3 weeks ago. had fishing winches and stuff on the side, was decked out like a mini charter boat.

Thats lame havin shirts like

Tue, 2012-07-17 09:12

Thats lame havin shirts like that ! Its a big ocean and there is no need to ping spots . I went up bout 5 years ago having not boated out there before , trolled for macks , tuna first day so as to get a feed , some reels screamin ! Then go and search . We drove about half hr north behind the reef then out off and eventually you find something worthy , like reece said , if you can use GPS and sounder ! Anyway , half the fun is finding some new ground !

No One owns a spot No one

Sat, 2012-07-28 19:05

No One owns a spot No one owns the ocean He may or maynot have had that spot as well as you .If you are heading to a spot and there is a vessel on it GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ,sound for ground you will be amazed at what you will find while waiting for him to go somewhere else. If you park next to him you are a mungrel fuckin dog and will be called a pinger regardless of whether you are or not so to avoid confrontations why not just go elsewhere for half an hour?. If everyone with some morals and ethics does this there will be no problems and only pingers will have piss in thier fuel tanks

predator by name predator by nature

Mon, 2012-07-30 08:52

black gen - same guy did this to me these holidays and he also did it 2 years ago. beautiful big flashy boat, clearly no skills on finding / catching his own fish.

There is just no need to drive past someone with 20-30 metres, 15 mile out, not another boat to be seen and blatantly ping
