point samson land based

Hi all, I am heading up to point samson for a bit. I don't have a boat. I am used to SW fishing with baits but lures are ok. Can anyone give me a few details as to places to try and species to target up that way? (without giving away secrets of course). Last time I was there for a day I tried the river causway but only got undersize bream - baitfishing. The main beach was blown out.

Point samson
the causeway can be lots of fun try super low spring tides walk down on the Samson side past the island to the little creek and throw small poppers stickbaits or placcys for queenies, blue salmon and small gts and livebaits on high tides around the Rockwall’s for jacks. Sams creek is also good on low tides for more of the same. High tides on Neap’s go to Wickham boat ramp and use twistys/ small stickbaits for queenies and the odd school mackerel. Squid from the rocks in front of the Samson tavern round to honeymoon cove on high tides. Lots of options just gota put in the time and the aeroguard! Good luck

Thanks Paulsy
Thanks Paulsy, that is will get me started. I would not have tried low tide so that is good advice. It looks like I gotta adjust to lure fishing. I do have an old 12 foot tinny sitting in the shed at Bremer Bay but I rekon it is a bit small for up there.

12 foot is just what you
12 foot is just what you want here. Plenty of options around dampier salt (pond 0), Nickol River just east off karratha back beach ramp for Barra, Jack's, cod.. Airport creek launching at cowrie cove for Barra etc..

ok, thanks Feral. I might
ok, thanks Feral. I might look at grabbing it then. It is an old 12 foot Savage Kestrel - riveted aluminium - quite narrow. By no means an open water craft.

easy bream spot?
Hey Palzy and Feral, is there anywhere easy that my wife and I could pick up a few decent bream or suchlike pretty easily? She is used to fishing at Bremer Bay, where we pick up a three of four decent bream or a dozen herring in less than an hour's fishing - she bores easily.

Nothing - ziltch - not a thing
Well, I have been here for a month now and it seems to me land based fishing here is lacklustre at best. Tried Cossack, Sampson boat ramp, causway, walking the creeks (muddy as...), and Cleaverville ("oh your sure to get fish at Cleaverville"). Tried mullet, squid, soft plastics, wobblies, flashies and anything else you might think of - no fish. Full tide, rising tide, falling tide - no difference. Hot and itchy is all I am getting. I think it is a case of buy a big boat or take up crochet. My only solution is wait until Christmas and I am back home at Bremer Bay - I know I can catch a feed there any day of the week.
That is my rant. Now I will go and wash the bushmans off, clean the mud off my gear, and have a cup of tea.
