9.30 start

Sat, 2012-06-09 21:02

yep had a late start today after watching the weather forecast friday pm , got a bit sloppy going out Nwest of Mindaries so made the call to stay in close , found a bommie in 22 mts and first two drift two smallish pinkys , so i thought i would sit it out and put the pick down only to have the rope snag up on the  reef andcut loosing the pick and 5 mts of chain , conditions blew up for a while  making it pretty uncomfortable tried some other ground but when the wind dropped i called time out and headed in , not so lucky where the guys out near rotto , sinking their rig

we had an early start- just

Sun, 2012-06-10 09:30

we had an early start- just before 5 at Woody's, headed out to a spot on the bank to burley up for pinks, but then had to run for Rotto to get away from this nasty big black cloud/ storm cell that was bearing down on us.  As none of us had wet weather gear because of the 'awesome ' forecast.  We had a look on the radar and took evasive action.

Then headed put to the 50s in pretty average conditions, then back in a good pace before the blow in the afternoon.   Nothing like what the forecast on Seabreeze said!! Ended up with a couple of BAs and a small sambo, plus a great feed of squid to finish the day, but generally frustrating

Moral of the story for us, is don't take the wet weather gear out of the boat ever, especially in a C Console

Yep I was the same. Went out about 10 mile off mindarie, wasnt what the weather man predicted thats for sure. Hit a few spots, but headed home about 11.30 lunch time. Landed 2x undersize dhui's and 2x huge KG's. still was good to get out on the water.
