bundegi boatramp jetty use to be a Hot spot for them but you needed to get live hardy heads to catch them, don't know if it still fires up.

 Rockwell along the outside

Rockwell along the outside of the marina. Local kids are masters at catching them on stickbaits.

Fished off Learmonth jetty is a good option if the southwester is cranking.

Trisel Access on the West

Thu, 2016-12-08 23:24

Trisel Access on the West side.  Awesome little platform, around a metre off the water.  If they are running, you'll get showered in hardyheads and gardies as they round them up and smash them against the rocks.  The reef is a horseshoe shape, and they come in from the left hand side, then exit on the right.  You'll see them coming in waves.  Some of the best fun I've ever had fishing.  Some of them went over a metre.  They fight fair, so lighter gear can be used.  One tip I was given was metal slices, but the shinier the better.  Failing that, a small landing/prawn net to scoop up the baitfish.  Pin it and hang on.  Really good spot to have a crack on fly gear too

When they are there, you will know. They chop up baitfish in mass numbers. Looks AWESOME.

Cheers,
