Question about 27meg radio antenna
Submitted by Paul N on Sun, 2009-05-31 10:17
The white plastic coating on my antenna / whip has perished and starting to fall off exposing the wires almost all the length . Logged on to sea rescue the other day so I know it still works. Anyone know if it's ok just to wrap tape over it or is a new one required.
Thanks
Paul

Good Idea
Thanks for the tip. Would take a bit of heatshrink to do all the antenna but could be worth it.

Thanks for the offer
Thanks for the offer but I do have a spare antenna myself. Have always kept a spare in the cabin just in case , but was hoping to be able to save this one from getting worse with age.
again thanks for the offer.
