Question about wire

Hey guys and girls, so I have a quick question about wire, now this mostly applys to expensive rigs like ballooning or shark rigs using say 3m plus of wire.. I have always used showgun nylon coated wire because I've heard fish can pick up the vibrations of non coated wire and I have caught well on it.. My problem is I get say one use out of a $20plus  rig and the no matter how much or little I wash it down it starts rusting inside the nylon coating so I pretty much have to use another 3m of wire and rebuild the rig.. This doesn't bother me if I get a week at wagoe out of a rig or something of that nature but if I go for a shark fish or balloon one bait for no result and still have to redo the rig it's pretty frustrating.. Does anyone have this problem or a way around it?

Cheers Belly

Water gets right down inside

Water gets right down inside coated wire so I don't think there's much you can do about it. Maybe try cutting your terminals off & maybe a few extra cm's at each end before storing? You would still have to remake the rig but maybe it will help with the rusting a little.

Personally I use AFW Tooth Proof single strand & fished side by side with coated I don't seem to get less hits compared to the coated. Maybe give the single a go.

if it'd for sharks why not just run a meter or so trace with heavy wind on 300lb plus I use save on wire

Or multi strand wire rapt in electrical tape that's how I chase bulls in the river just cut tape and wash you'll get a few sessions with this

Single strand for maks cheap and easy to tie

Few options mate

I've tried a drop of

I've tried a drop of superglue on the cut ends of the wire...it seems to help as long as the rest of the coating remains intact.  still remake rigs after a couple uses (or sooner if I have doubts)
