Quobba beach

Hey guys I'm going to quobba and was wondering has anyone ever fished off the beach up there for a mulla?? Or am I likely only going to come across sharks?? I'm just curios whether it's worth it or not

Cheers guys

Would stick to Carnarvon if you want to catch a Mulla.

Doubt you'd get too many rigs back off the reefy ground around quobba too.  May get some good by-catch though!

I seem to remember a fella writing an article on live baiting the numerous beach spots in and around quobba, mate they had pictures of amberjack from the beach. Its one of those places that you just never know- Ive seen massive tailor off camp rock and caught everything from spanglies, cobia, all types of mackies to red emperor of Garths...

Always wanted to have a crack at the beach of lefties at red bluff- let us know how you go you got to be in it to win it.

theres a couple of good spots off the road on the way there- yellabiddi and koorandu (spelling...?)... about 30kms back a bit up from where the powerlines cross the road theres a couple of tracks heading off to the left. track is pretty obvious and not too much hard 4wding to get there. couple of good sandy beaches there and Ive got a few there before

If you are heading in to these spots try to get in on the low tide so you can see where the clear patches are to fish. Expect the unexpected, spanglies, red throats, tailor mulloway, mackies , you name it.

There are about 3-4 small spots along that section, its just a case of exploring until you find something you like.

First rack in is near the microwave tower and next is where power lines cross the road and last one is nearly opposite salt works turn off. Beware of stakes on the tracks, so easy to do a tyre.
