RATS vs PCR's

yo dudes,
I thought I would start a new thread, rather than hijack Frosty's post.
There is a common repetetive issue with RAT tests, where they are often not showing up positive when youve got Covid. A PCR test is more difinitive and accurate.
Although there a literally thousands of similar cases to this, one of the school dads was crook in a house full of Covid, and repeatedly tested negative on the RATs. A PCR test a few days later confirmed he had the Coco!
Essentially, if the writing is on the wall but the RATs arent coming up positive, go get a PCR.

Can confirm
The RATS for myself, daughter and eldest son all showed a solid line within minutes. My other son continually showed up negative except one yesterday arvo where we weren't sure whether we could make out the faintest of faint lines but he's had the exact same symptoms as the other two at the exact same time but a lot worse.
He and the Mrs did a PCR yesterday arvo and he returned positive even though we did another RAT when he returned showing another negative result. Somehow the Mrs is still negative after being in direct contact with all three kids and myself (sleeping same bed, cuddling kids, sharing meals, cleaning up vomit) and no masks being worn.

I heard that a PCR will pick
I heard that a PCR will pick it up maybe 48 hours sooner than a RAT. Don't know if that's true but I recall it being a creditable source.

PCR
Had a guy at work his wife is a copper and tested positive on a RAT and reported it to WA health.
She was asked by her employer to confrm with a PCR and this came back negative and when she let WA Health know they said she still needs to isloate as once youve reported a positive result that's it theres no reversing that!
System keeps changing.
Moral of the story if you intend to confirm with a PCR DON'T report a positive RAT result first.
