Interesting original hull

Interesting original hull construction. Not what you normally see/expect when you lift the floor.

Looking good would love to have seen more pics.

Whats the total length/specs and what are you putting on for power??

 Doubt it would be Chinese.

Doubt it would be Chinese. Was plenty of backyard and small scale builders around in the 70's. Lots of them didn't last on the market and I'm guessing yours is one of them. The name would suggest it might of been a demo or boat show special.

 Yeh confused me abit!

5.5m master marine barracuda. All the stringers had come away from the hull and the transom was rotten. Will be putting the johnson 85hp back on (in other thread in this forum) until I know it floats n I'm happy with it. Then not sure if a repower or sell it and build a glen l project.

strayln mate

Yep , made in the goood ole island of strayla mate, saw quite a few of these around boat yards around 1979-1980

when searching for our first boat , and like a lot of the early fibreglass , built like a brick ,,,,,house.

Doesnt mean the dash and transoms dont crack after 30 years of use and abuse, but still a great project, esp

as you now know excastly whats under the floor, by the way did you add any floatation before sealing deck?

Toughest ( and heaviest for size) fibre boat I ever saw was a mate in mandurah many moons ago had a 17 foot boat called a m.f.g,

It needed a tandem trailer, and still looked overloaded , and he ran motors as high as 140hp over the years, it had a great hull shape , bit like

a mini formula hull , and just bloody parted the water as it went. He had it for over 30 years ( bought new in late 60,s!) and never touched it , hull wise.
