Hi guys new to fish wrecked. so hi to everyone What I was chasing was what rigs and bait do you guys use to catch red emperor? I have had a little success using a paternoster rig 7/0 hooks with flesh baits. Been heading about 60km off port hedland with not much success. Got a few one day in 30m of water, went back a few weeks later and never found any again. Also what time of day do you catch them most and what kind of ground? Thanks for your help guys

I use 9/0 owner circles and
I use 9/0 owner circles and big baits preferably fresh bait. Generally the best tide is 2 hours before high but if your on good ground it doesn't matter. Look for flat ground holding fish eg coral or gravel bottom. You can get reds in shallow water but in the 50 to 60m water there seems to be a lot more. And maybe Evan try night fishing. If a fish is coloured red it feeds more at night. Good luck

good bait=NW blowie fillet
good bait=NW blowie fillet skinned.
Its about the texture of chicken and stays on pretty good as well.
