Redhead squid jigs - your thoughts?
Submitted by rigpig on Mon, 2015-05-25 13:02
A while back a saw on a fishing show Lee Raynor usinga redhead squid jig. He said they are all the go in the Eastern States but in WA we favour the pink, red, white etc. None of my mates have used a redhead squid jig and I'm wondering if anyone is and what their thoughts are on them.

For what it is worth, I
For what it is worth, I picked up a solid white jig on Saturday, after a report on here. Was e only jigg that got us squid yesterday. Tried pinks, blues, greens and nothing, but the white one was a real hit.

whites are the go
Yeah I had a white one out the back of my boat on Sunday while drifting and I was working a pink one and the white did very well. I am not sure if it was because I was just letting it do its thing drifting and it was getting further down towards the weed though... Maybe the redhead may work well as the majority of the jig is white?

watermelon
is by far the best jig colour I have used. They were on special in the chuck out bin in rocko complete angler. When I asked the store assistant if they were any good he laughed and replied " yeah, cause squid eat watermelons". Well I can say the whites are good, the ones with the diamond pearl on the back are better and the watermelon are by far the go to jig for me.
As for the redhead... be the first to find out I say.
