carry 2. Keep one in the cab

carry 2. Keep one in the cab as a spare. If you lose one, replace the lost one always, because if you lose the only one you got, they can still ping you a nice fine.

Just a tip.

Yeah thanks just looking thru the west coast gascoyne guide book now and it only mentions that boat fisherers are encouraged to use release weights.  Not that it is compulsory ...guide is dated feb this year..  The map shows west coast bioregion only as far north as Kalbarri and south as augusta and this is where it is compulsory to have obn board...

the west coast bio region goes as far up as the zytof (spelling wrong) cliffs in shark bay. not compulsory to carry outside this area but would be a good idea anyway

I know it's compulsory...

...to CARRY one, but is it compulsory to actually USE one? I ask because of that thread talking about the charter operator not releasing fish properly despite having the weight on board.

I do whatever I can to release fish in a manner that gives them the best chance of survival, and of course I use my weight (thank you Dave at Jurien Marine Supplies!) but can a punter be pinged for not using it?
