removal of old marine carpet glue from my platey

Hi all,
What is the best/ fastest way of removal of old marine carpet glue totally from my plate Aluminium.
I want to replace it with tube matting for ease of cleaning.

No issues with damaging the glass ? i want to remove the carpet from both casting decks aswell but the glue is on thick.

I pulled all the carpet today. OMG the amount of sand, A good 2kg of WA Exmouth dust that gets under marine carpet. Thank god the SportFish people back in the 90's painted the floor before affixing the glue the same
The next step is to use the Gurnie to remove any remaining crap. Then the remaining glue.
This retirement thing is blood ,sweat and tears.
