Repair sun cracked bimmini cover
Submitted by Rig on Thu, 2009-12-17 21:39
Hi Everyone
I have a quintrex bayhunter and the biminiroof which connects to the front windscreen has seen better days. it has obviously been left out to the elements by the previous owner and has quite a few cracks where the vinyl is coming off the cotton base which means i get fairly wet in rougher conditions. i was hoping to find some sort of sealant i could paint or spray over it to water proof it as replacing it i imagine would be an expensive execise. has anyone repaired 1 of these before or got any ideas as to what i could put on it
cheers

I got the canopy of my dads
I got the canopy of my dads boat remade with new poles and all at Just Covers in Balcatta a couple of years ago. Cost $590 back then.
Very good quality though, poles are alot heavier duty than the previous ones.
Of course thats if you wanted to go 'getting a new one made' option.

i think your better off
i think your better off getting a new one rather than messing around fixing the old as it will only be a temporary fix.

yeah it seems a bit cheaper
yeah it seems a bit cheaper than what i first thought. was speaking to my boat mechanic this morn he said there is a guy in hillaries that does the same thing. it still keeps the sun off which is the main thing, but you tend to get a free shower in choppy conditions

Rig...sounds like that
Rig...sounds like that canopy is pretty well buggered mate. Better off going for a new one.
