Repairing ripped outboard splash cover
Submitted by Adonis on Thu, 2016-01-14 07:25
Hey guys,
went out on the weekend and my novice boating mate tilted my outboard into the baitboard and ripped the top of the splash cover which is still in good nic. Does anyone know who repairs these or if they can be repaired? Don't really want to buy another one as they are about $300. Any advice would be great.
Cheers!

Suggest it would be a good idea
To have a travel limiter installed on the tilt of the outboard if it doesn't come standard. My new Yammy would have potentially posed the same problem but the dealer (good old Chivers !) recognised the potential problem and limited the amount of tilt to avoid impact. The cover can easily be repaired but the tear will remain - not worth deconstructing to insert a replacement panel

Outboard cover
outboard covers australia are in midvale, they manufacture them on the premises, that may be able to help you.
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

cheers guys, will look into
cheers guys, will look into the travel limiter. Contacted outboard covers australia they can unpick the top cover and stitch in a new one a lot cheaper than buying a new one so pretty happy with that!
