The chargers fell in a hole because they only had a three speed box where as the falcon and holdens had four speeds.

Used to make a full day of it when Bathurst was on, mates over, fridge full and hopefully no interruptions. All classes in together not just the V8s made for a more exciting watching.  Cmon the Fords

Anybody here has a classic Aussie muscle car in the garage?

There are a few arround here in Perth but seem to be mighty elusive!

All Ford Day @ Bassendean oval coming up at the end of this month, Sunday 30 October, alway worth a decent look at all the classic bling.

Pictures of your pride and joy would be aqppreciated by a few of us here. 

 i was one of the lucky ones, after having mine for 19 years sold it 2 years ago for healthy sum, still got a v8 xw gs fairmont in the  shed, pretty much would have to agree with Canarvonite, once was an allday party starting at 6am.

 Still got a heap or XW/XY GT parts laying around if anyones chasing something.

Well done Jody, truly awesome! The fastest 4 door production sedan in the world during that era and started "The supercar scare". I am not 100% sure and please correct me if I'm wrong but I think I remember that video a while back stating that the GT had gone from near last on the grid to 3rd or 1st in 3laps. Another Mighty GTHO achievement!

I think those"bloody Volvo drivers" are MKI and/orII Cortinas?

FORD XA GT HO Ph4 together with the XU1 with a V8 as proposed and worked on by Holden's Harry Firth were the so called scary Supercars targetted by that Faithfull newspaper article.

one of my fav cars right there you cant mistake that clevo sound its like music to my ears!

But not a black track fan as much as dirt. Rally all the way. Competed and couldnt afford the bling but we had some fun in an souped up Elantra (yes you can get some grunt out of them). As a senior Rally Oz organiser in my hay day got a ride with a few classic drivers- Rob Herridge, Possum (Peter) Bourne, Richard Burns and especially Colin McRae. Nothing and I mean nothing beats the feeling around corners of a classically performed Scandinavian flick.

Still love all motosport though. I looked after the late Doug Chivers house when Mandy and him went for a around Australia trip. Still a Bathurst legens for pushing the car along the final straight to finish when they ran out off fuel ( Co-driving with Peter Brock then).

Last night was a great first episode of cars in Australia (4 episodes, I believe) called "Here come the petrol heads"

can be viewed on ABC podcast!

Doug Chivers is an absolute Legend!

1973 was the Doug Chivers Peter Brock XU1 Torrie push incident that "Gave" Allan Moffat an easier win in the FORD Falcon coupe XA GT #9.

It was the Xu2 with the Phase 4 that started the supercar scare. Xu1 was already racing. Apparently the few Xu2's that were to start the production are identifiable by getting inside the quarter panels of an XU1 and if there are filler caps both sides you have an XU2. Holden welded one filler cap and left the other, there are also a few genuine pink XU1's out there.

F*ck it! I like FORDS more, now we have a 355out.

My old "Bus" is currently being used in the making of a movie on the Mikcelberg broos and the Grteat Mint swindle saga!

It will be on Channel 9 next year!

Very interesting to see what is going on in making a movie!

i had one the same as that one glastro.... actually mine was a GT, still love it. Keep it they dont make classics anymore.
