Rod and Line Advice

Hey guys,
I have a new certate 3500 which i want to use for casting 20g to 50g metals and also for light beach fishing. So...
I am looking for a recommendation for a 9' 4-8kg rod that will really belt a lure out. Up to $300
Second, what line? If mono, then I am thinking of 5-6kg. But if I got 15lb braid, can I expect a better cast? Not really sure whether mono casts better than braid or if its even a legitimate question because the two types of line are so different. Mono is really easy to flick around compared to the knotting you get off beaches with weed if you are using braid. What do you think?

Braided Line
I use 14lb fireline on the beach and everywhere, havnt had any trouble with it. The added strength helps when pulling off snags. Also if your really keen, daiwa make a tournement 8 super pe braid where the diameter of 20lb is ridiculously small!!

for a cheaper braid, go
for a cheaper braid, go Sunline Super PE. definately worth it, and not too pricey either. either that, or a more expensive option is TD Sensor. love it.

advice
The FWA 9ft graphite spin stick would be ideal and belts the lures out. Japanese carbon fibre blank and well finished. Whilst based on a $200-$300 rod its price is less than that so have a look.
As for braid look at the Sunline Super PE as mentioned, better cast and more feel with lures.

Jewel
Check out the Shimano Jewel 902. 9ft, 4-8kg, awesome rod, should be a good match for your certate. And at around $160 well within your budget.
I have the 702 Saltwater spin version which has been my go to rod for the past 12 months, caught smaller GT's, Queenies, tailor and Salmon on it and it has never let me down.
Well worth a look mate

or the starlo stix
i'm not sure whether they have a new model out this year of the starlo stix 902 shorespin, but i have a 3500 hd certate and i often use it on my shorespin 9ft and it is a nice combo for flicking lures and it was only about $130.00 i think. well worth a look

firstly go with braid as it
firstly go with braid as it will cast alot further and smoother, unless where your fishing has tons of rocks and reef etc then mono will be best for the abrasion resistance.
ive got the fwa 9ft rod (which is the heavier one) rated at 6-10kg and 30-70 gram lures, but they also make one with the same line rating but something-30 gram lures i think
honsu told me both these rods are better than the staro stix which i can vogue for as i punished mine on a ray in shark bay and it felt awsome
your best bet is to go into oceanside and talk to any of the boys in there as they all give great advice
