Rod for Stella5000sw

 Hi guys,

I have been lucky enough to be given a Stella 5000sw as a farewell gift from work.

Awesome reel and fits into my range very well. (thanks to my son giving the necessary advise to my work colleagues).

Can anyone suggest a good one piece rod to suit. Want to be able to cast poppers, lure and plastics but also ok for bottom bouncing. Would think something around 61/2 to 7 foot?

get a Shimano Terez 15-30 LB

Shimano Terez 15-30 LB but make sure it is the casting model with the split butt for casting the lures. If you are wanting to do more bottom bouncing get the terez with the thick grip handle.

tcurve revolution  vertical jig 30/40lb rating 6'6 i think , i have both the 20/30lb(stella 2500)  and the 30/ 40lb(stella 4000) and they are great for a variety of styles and at $195.00 they are great value.

Yamaga Blue Sniper 65/3 or

Yamaga Blue Sniper 65/3 or 70/4? I recommend the PE4 model only because bottom bouncing in my mind conjures up images of hefty sinkers. If that isnt the case then the 65/3 is great.

You might also look at a 70/3 but it is hard to find something that is good for all of the things you've described. A bottom bouncing rod is generally not a casting rod!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Saltiga combijerk

Used to have the old red and white one with my 5000. Awesome. My brother just bought the newer version combijerk for his 5000. He went up to exmouth with it couple of weeks ago, he used it for everything, casting for tuna, soft plastic, jigging for bottom fish, except casting poppers for big gt.

Must check it out before buying other rod. That said I did find the newer one is a bit softer than the old one, I used to bottom bounce with the old one with up to 12oz sinnkers no probs. not too sure about the new blue one.

Cheers
